Tonja & Eric’s post wedding session

I posted a couple of months ago online looking for a couple to model in their wedding attire. When Tonja and Eric messaged me, I jumped for joy! All of my couples are awesome but if you want to meet two people who are truly perfect for each, this is them. They totally rock!

We had a blast shooting these. I was playing around with using two lights on a session. It’s something I haven’t dealt much with and wanted to explore. (However, as always, I shot some natural light too.) I feel like the results are just awesome. You can do amazing things with just one light, but throw in a second and my mind is blown!

I took them to a few of my favorite spots. Sorry, I won’t say where 😉 ! I call one of them my secret spot even though it’s not secret. It’s in plain site if you know where it is or if you look at your surroundings a little closer. In the ones with lights, I was playing around with backlighting and lighting my subject as well as trying to use the sun to my advantage or completely over powering the sun when possible.

So here is the awesome Tonja & Eric. They totally rocked their post wedding session. Also, Carl was a great grip! (A grip is a photographers assistant who carries equipment, holds lights, sets things up, and takes things down. Thank you for all your help Carl!)

Grace – Saint Andrews Senior {Sheryl Lynn Photography}

It’s been fun watching Grace grow up into a beautiful young lady. It’s still hard to believe she is a senior this year at Saint Andrews in Ridgeland and will be going off to college next year.

As soon as Grace told me she wanted me to do her senior portraits, I knew I wanted to do something swimming related since she’s on the swim team. We had a blast!

The Glissons Gulf Shores session {Sheryl Lynn Photography}

I had a blast doing this family session. Micheale and I have become friends and go to church together. William and my son Christian just LOVE playing together. I felt honored that she asked me to do their first ever family photos of the 3 of them together.

Michaele grew up on the coast. So when I mentioned we were going down for a business trip recently to Gulf Shores, AL, she was excited about coming and doing family pictures. I really think they turned out awesome. William is a hoot and his true personality really shows in the images. 1 2 3 4 IMG_0306 IMG_0310

Casey + Jimmy finally MARRIED! Cornerstone, Brandon MS {Sheryl Lynn Photography}

Casey and I have been friends for several years now. I was sooooooo excited when she told me she was getting married and even more excited that she asked me photograph her special day.

She and Jimmy got married at the Cornerstone Club house in Brandon, MS. I love that place. It had great lighting, beautiful big windows (which photographers really like), and just perfect scenery. She and Jimmy actually tied the knot in Jamaica on the beach and a small wedding here for family. It was so perfect.

So here is Casey and Jimmy! IMG_1427 IMG_1438 IMG_1450 IMG_1505 IMG_1546 IMG_1596 IMG_1606 IMG_1614 IMG_1684 IMG_1848 IMG_1862 IMG_1900 IMG_1902 IMG_2031 IMG_2062 IMG_2072 IMG_2073 IMG_2113 IMG_2135 IMG_2161

The Lovely Lindsey, on Film – {Sheryl Lynn Photography, Madison MS}

I posted a couple images recently of Lindsey online. Now I’ve got them all ready to show.

I LOOOOOVE film. Lindsey was nice enough to model for me so I could shoot some. I shot these on my Mamiya 645 with Fuji Pro 400H. I really adore the Fuji film. Now it’s time to try out some Kodak Portra. I’ve heard lots of good things about the Kodak too.

Anyways, people say film is dead. Psssh! Nope. I’m a group on Facebook of ALL film shooters. There’s over 2,000 people in the group. Film is not dead. Film will always have a beauty to it that digital just can’t match. Some may not think that, it’s just my 2 cents, but I believe it. Film is what I started on. I still love it. I still shoot on it. I honestly don’t think I will ever quit shooting film.

I shot of lot of these of Lindsey in straight sunlight. Something you just can’t do with digital because you loose a lot of highlights. I love how the sun shots came out. Plus, Lindsey’s red hair just pops! 🙂 lindsey1000007620003-2 000007620009-2lindsey2 lindsey3 lindsey4 lindsey5 lindsey6

Grant – Pearl HS Senior – {Sheryl Lynn Photography}

I had an awesome time with Grant and his parents for his senior session. He’s a senior at Pearl High School and on the baseball team. We shot at the Pearl park and then went to the baseball field at the school. We were lucky to make it on the field! We were also lucky it didn’t rain!

So here’s some of Grant. Enjoy!IMG_0194grant2-2 IMG_0094-2grant3-2IMG_0071-2

Braddon – Pearl HS Senior {Sheryl Lynn Photography ~ Madison, MS}

I love shooting high school seniors. Most are into so many things that it gives you tons of options for their senior portraits. Plus they’re always open to fun things!

I met Braddon and his awesome parents at Pearl High School where he is a senior this year. We shot around the entrance and then went to the football field. I really think his senior portraits turned out great!

So here is Braddon!1-2 2-2 3-2 IMG_0096-24-2

The Sumrall Girls – {Sheryl Lynn Photography Madison MS}

These three sweet girls are SO super cute! I had a blast even though Ashlee wasn’t too thrilled about pictures. HA! They still turned out funny, and I’m sure will make a great conversation later when she’s older.

So here’s Ashlee, Abby, and baby Mackenzie! Ashlee is just too funny in these pictures being shy while Abby is trying to entertain Mackenzie during the portrait session.1 2

He’s ONE! {Sheryl Lynn Photography, Madison MS}

Our sweet little boy turned one Monday. Over the last year, I’ve taken a portrait of him each month. Some of the months show what milestone he met that month. It’s so neat to look back over these images and see how much he changed!

Month one (left), he started showing facial expressions. Month 2 (middle), he started smiling. Month 3 (right), he was hold his head up well. He had been trying to hold his head up since two months but got good at it around 3 months.

1-2-3month

Month 4 was his baptism. Month 5 (my absolute favorite), he started sitting up on his own. Month 6, he didn’t really hit anything major. I just had him in an outfit I bought him.

4-5-6month

Month 7, was another outfit I bought him and was Thanksgiving. He had started teething big time that month. Month 8 (middle), he started crawling EVERYWHERE! Haha! Month 9 (right), He started walking and wasn’t too fond of clothes.

7-8-9month

Month 10(left), he got his first tooth. Most people ask why I didn’t edit out the drool stain. Because that was him! He was covered in drool. To me, it signifies his first tooth! Month 11(middle), he learned he could go outside and that’s pretty much where we stay. The final image is his one year portrait. I made a custom filter to create “1” in the background with some lights.10-11-12mo

Candice + Ben = 10-13-12 {Madison, MS Wedding Photographer}

I was so excited when Candice sent me an email that she was getting married and wanted me to photograph her wedding. She and I went to high school together. I was so excited because I knew she’d be GORGEOUS, AND…. I would get to see a bunch of people I hadn’t seen in years.

Anyways, Candice and Ben had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the gorgeous Mississippi Craft Center. I love this place for many reasons but the main one being their glass stair case! Talk about a Cinderella moment. LOVE!

Candice & Ben, I wish you many years of happiness and love. Thank you for trusting me on your big day.
